E-ID

An E-ID is a state-issued digital proof of identity. It allows people to prove their identity online. In SSI ecosystems, an E-ID and other digital credentials can be used in a wallet.

Credentials

Credentials are digital proofs of an identity, attribute or entitlement. In SSI, they are issued by an organisation and managed and presented by the relevant person in a wallet.

Wallet

A wallet is a digital application or environment in which users store and manage identity credentials. It allows them to present selected credentials to services or organisations.

Identity verification

Identity verification means checking whether a person or organisation is actually who they claim to be. In decentralised identity systems, it is an important step before trusted credentials are issued or used.

Interoperability
