The VIAC One app – one app, one experience, on all channels

VIAC and Ergon have delivered a new-generation VIAC app platform. The VIAC One app combines web and mobile for a seamless user experience with cutting-edge technology, high software quality and intuitive design. Joint planning, agile development and a clear vision created a robust, multi-product solution – the basis for the future of VIAC.
Web and mobile united – in one powerful platform
The starting situation was challenging. VIAC had been using two separate codebases for web and mobile. New features had to be maintained twice over. In addition, the mobile app lacked multi-product capability, which hampered innovations – like the later VIAC Invest product. The solution was pioneering: a shared platform with one app that works across all channels – developed by Ergon, designed by Unknown Digital GmbH and implemented with a focus on quality, user-friendliness and scalability.
The aim was to create a modern, streamlined solution that feels equally familiar and powerful on both smartphones and browsers. For Daniel Peter, CEO of VIAC, it was clear that “The user experience has to be right – everywhere.”
A common path and a clear structure
The new One app was developed based on the existing web app and extended with full responsiveness and deployment capability to the app stores. This involved completely replacing the existing mobile app during live operation, whilst simultaneously continuing platform development.
It was an ambitious goal that could only be achieved through stringent scope management and strong discipline within the agile Scrum setup. Standards were high. The key phrase here was pixel perfect. Every element of the new look and feel was carefully coordinated. The collaborative dialogue between VIAC, Unknown Digital and Ergon was central to the quality of the result.

The new VIAC One app delivers a consistent, modern experience across all channels. Users can access their financial and pension products with the same ease on any device – whether on a smartphone, tablet or desktop. The new UX concept facilitates true multi-product capability for the first time: products such as Pillar 3a, vested benefits and Invest are now combined within a shared interface.
The implementation follows clear principles: simple operation, clear structures and seamless interactions. In addition, the technical base has been designed so that new products can be launched quickly and efficiently – a genuine competitive advantage for VIAC.

New solutions can be implemented more easily and affordably, while the user experience remains at the familiar high level.
