A new standard for private pensions
For over 130 years, Schwyzer Kantonalbank (SZKB) has been supporting its customers through all stages of life. With its strategic development into an investment and pension bank, it is focusing on digital solutions that combine convenience and personal advice.
A key concern was to simplify access to the third pillar and integrate it directly into the existing mobile banking system. The new digital pillar 3a was designed to meet customers' expectations of a modern pension experience: it had to be simple, transparent and available at all times. The result bears the name and promise of the campaign: "Saving 3a at my favourite bank".
DiVo – digital, integrated, future-proof
SZKB chose DiVo, Ergon's digital pension solution, for the implementation. The platform was specially developed as a 3a pension module for banks to seamlessly integrate fully digital pension provision into existing processes. SZKB is initially using the mobile banking version; a web banking version is also planned for the future.
SZKB is the first bank in the Finnova ecosystem to use DiVo productively. This is an important milestone for all institutions on this platform. Close integration with Finnova components and the latest Finnova Mobile Application Platform (MAP4) has created a consistent digital self-service experience. The project was supported by Finnova and G+D Netcetera as technology partners.
The key advantage: unlike many other online solutions, SZKB's digital pillar 3a is fully integrated into mobile banking – it is not a separate app. This embedding in the overall financial situation offers two advantages: firstly, customers can navigate through all banking topics on a single interface. Secondly, the digital user experience is seamlessly integrated into the entire SZKB advisory process – both digital and personal at the same time.
Customers can open their own 3a account, make deposits and invest in SZKB pension funds – at any time, free of custody fees and brokerage commissions, and directly on their smartphone. The system guides them through a short profiling process, supports them in choosing the right strategy and displays performance transparently in the cockpit.

The project was implemented in close coordination between the teams involved from SZKB, Ergon, Finnova, and G+D Netcetera. Continuous collaboration across multiple departments enabled a stable, high-quality solution that could go live within a short period of time.
A digital experience with a future
The digital pillar 3a has been in use since October 2025 and is actively utilised. The feedback has been very positive: the app is considered intuitive, understandable and easily accessible. Many customers are using it to enter pillar 3 for the first time or switch from an account to an investment.

SZKB shows how digital pension planning works today: customer-centric, secure and directly integrated into everyday life. The solution proves that 3a functionalities can be easily integrated into existing banking infrastructures in the Finnova ecosystem.
DiVo is closely linked to Finnova and the latest Finnova Mobile Application Platform (MAP4). A web banking version offering a full omnichannel experience is expected to be available in the future. There are also plans for fully automated integration via open partner interfaces – an important step towards greater efficiency and scalability. As an official Finnova partner product for 3a pension provision, DiVo sets the technological standard for future digital pension solutions.
