Coop: intuitive and automated advertising management

With the cloud-based advertising management platform Adison, Coop is now automating the creation of its advertising materials. Thanks to optimised processes, Coop can save time, reduce its manual workload and minimise errors with things like pricing, for example. Adison facilitates collaboration and improves efficiency – a solution that has been met with a positive response from employees.
From an established system to a future-proof approach
Coop had been using a workflow solution to create the weekly promotional magazines and price signs for its branches since 2000. The system also supported workflows for own-brand packaging designs or creating other advertising materials such as posters and displays. Over time, the solution was no longer able to meet the increasing complexity of the company’s needs and no longer fulfilled all necessary requirements.
Coop wanted a way to comprehensively support all its advertising materials no matter the format and to replace the existing system with more modern technology without sacrificing any important functions. The company wanted to optimise its processes and facilitate collaborations with all players.
Together with Coop, Ergon revised the functionalities and analysed the requirements of all areas such as magazines, price signs on the sales floor and packaging. The result is a modern, cloud-based web application that allows internal and external stakeholders to work efficiently and collaboratively on advertising materials. Adison coordinates the workflows of over 600 users – from planning and modifications to quality assurance and the preparation of the final documents to print.

Efficient production thanks to intelligent templates
One highlight of Adison is a newly developed method for creating advertising materials using Adobe InDesign and prepared templates. Everything can be stored in the templates: from the preview image in the application, to the page layout, and even the correct colour profiles for the printers.
With Adison, Coop can now create many advertising materials largely automatically. A design agency is seamlessly brought in and involved in the process when manual adjustments are required. The automation reduces manual workload and shortens production times. In addition, errors in the advertising materials are minimised – a crucial advantage for Coop.
