Reducing the amount of air in packages. What sounds banal is in reality a mathematical masterstroke. Digitec Galaxus and Ergon started making this ambitious idea happen back in 2022. Seven billion variables later, the result is impressive: it’s been possible to reduce the amount of filling material in parcels by 38 per cent. In this, the first joint project, Switzerland’s largest online retailer relied on Ergon’s engineering and cloud computing expertise. Right from the kick-off day it was clear that this would be a fruitful partnership. For Aurel Gautschi at Digitec Galaxus, the day was a highlight. In the video he reveals why.
