Application development taster days

Schnuppertage

General information

Ergon runs regular taster days for secondary school students. These one-day courses give students an insight into the application development apprenticeship and allow them to try their hand at programming. We create our own website and carry out simple programming exercises using Scratch, a graphical user interface developed specifically to help young people get started in programming. The taster days are organised and run by our apprentices.

It is pleasing that interest has risen steadily in recent years and that more and more girls are coming along to the taster days. In 2008 we were able to give 30 school students an insight into information technology, and we had 15 participants in the first half of 2009 alone.

A report on our taster days can be found in computerworld, September 2008
