Belimo sharedlogic

Belimo

Belimo is a technology company quoted on the stock market, which employs around 1000 people worldwide. It has been developing, manufacturing and selling electric drives for air vents and fittings for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems since 1975. With its extensive product range, Belimo is a world leader in this niche market.

In 2006 Ergon evaluated a number of different embed- ded devices on behalf of Belimo in a feasibility study. Since then the embedded platform Belimo sharedlogic has been developed, which Belimo will be launching this year. This embedded platform is a modular system, which provides the basic functions for the development of Java-based automatic control systems for building services components. These also include a web interface, developer tools and a commissioning tool for commissioning the solution. With sharedlogic Belimo uses the latest information technology to produce intelligent and ground-breaking components for building services (HVAC).

Novartis Literature Search Application

Novartis

In 2004 and 2005 Ergon implemented the project LISA Literature Search Application for Novartis. This search engine is specialized on the detection of appropriate documents in the web and on the extraction of meta data to search and index.

MEPSAS: New Business Software for Ships

Mespas

MESPAS AG operates a solution for the material and maintenance management of ships along with a trading platform for shipping companies. Since 2004, Ergon has been developing the client for this distributed system for ships that operate offline and which can be periodically synchronized. With the Planned Maintenance module, the ship's crew can easily plan and document maintenance work.

The system ensures that the crew has access to information about every part of the ship. Maintenance work is easy to plan. Mechanics can print out a job order, carry out the work in the engine room and then document what they have done with minimal input. Key components have their own maintenance card. This maintenance card in PDF format specifies which values have to be recorded and which wear parts measured.

The next time the systems are synchronised, details of completed maintenance work and wear measurements are entered in the central database in XML format, where they are immediately available to the shipping company. This means that despite the long distances covered by the ships and the diffuse nature of the application, all parties have an overview of scheduled and completed work at all times. Shipping companies can demonstrate to insurers and regulatory authorities that ship maintenance is being carried out as scheduled. The detailed recording of maintenance data allows statistical analysis to be carried out of highly relevant data for the entire shipping sector.

Spare parts, consumables and inventory data are reconciled between the ships and the shipping companies. The shipping company can optimise parts procurement centrally and process orders quickly and cost-effectively using the integrated retail platform.

RUAG Networked Sensor Effector Demonstrator

RUAG

Ergon cooperates as a technology provider and development partner with RUAG Electronics in the Networked Sensor Effector Demonstrator (NESD) project. NESD is a multi-year research project whose goal is to examine influences and reciprocal actions in the conflict area of doctrine, systems, technologies and organisations. The networked approach of doctrine, systems, technologies and organisations allows short-term simulations of scenarios that are in practice considered probable.

Waste Disposal Information System

Roche

Roche uses Ergon's Waste Disposal Information System for waste reacquisition. This system manages, historicize, and analyzes waste data. The analyses contain quantity balances, bills, permits, and official correspondence to cantonal and national authorities. Roche utilizes the generic Table Tool by Ergon for the convenient editing of data in relational databases. The complex reports are automatically created on the server using ReportTool, can be viewed on the client, and are then printed.

Seismo Data Warehouse

Roche

Seismo is a data warehouse for the Safety and Environmental Protection department of Roche. It stores raw data on products, company sites, partners, and much more. These primary data are loaded during nightly imports from numerous connected systems. The Seismo system also contains a Management Information System (MIS) as well as various applications and database systems for safety data-sheets, accident statistics, lab analyses, and course administration.

Thanks to its software tools and profound database knowledge in the modelling, metadata, and import & export domains, Ergon can develop complex database projects expertly and effectively.
