The LLB Group relies on a solution developed by Ergon for its online banking, providing clients with real added value to meet the maximum demands in terms of security, availability and ease of use. The independence of browsers as well as a multi-level security concept ensure that unauthorised parties cannot gain access to the system.

The LLB and Ergon have enjoyed a strategic partnership for more than a decade. The first joint, tailored online banking solution was implemented as an independent program as early as 1999. During the switch-over to the Avaloq banking system as a group-wide standard, the proven approach was used and Ergon was once again tasked with implementing the software in accordance with the new requirements. For security reasons and to rule out any compatibility problems, the LLB group wanted an online banking solution that is not browser-based. Instead, they wanted an independent program installed locally. This strategy was consistently adhered to during the switch-over to the Avaloq banking system as well, because it provides the customers with added security and convenience.

With this solution developed by Ergon to meet the specific needs of the LLB group, all of the requirements for the new online banking platform could be satisfied. The solution is an online banking and trading application with a wide variety of functions, which covers (customer and account management, payment transactions, stock trading) and the needs of the trustees and asset managers as well as the private customers. A 3-level security process ensures that the demanding customer base can have secure and user-friendly access to online banking at any time. In the server area as well, utmost security is a top priority: the server infrastructure of the LLB group is protected by additional security measures and other products from Ergon. In addition, there was a desire to uncouple the online banking system from the core banking system at the server level for reasons of security, performance and availability considerations. This was solved by means of an independent online banking database. The system is thus available 24 hours.

Further Internet Banking Solutions

Rahn & Bodmer

Direct Net Tagesüberblick

Ergon has developed together with its partners Netcetera and Swisscom IT Services Finance AG an eService-Platform for Avaloq, that is running at Rahn & Bodmer since July 2004. The flexible Reporting component allows Rahn&Bodmer to create web reports on its own.

In 1996, Ergon developed for Credit Suisse in cooperation with Sun Microsystems und Crealogix (then known as Delta) in a record time of only 8 months the first Swiss Internet-banking application, Direct Net.

Finis AG's application for Internet banking und market trading ("e-banking") is another of Ergon's creations. It has been deployed at the Finis Group's banks (Schwyzer Kantonalbank, Urner Kantonalbank, Schaffhauser Kantonalbank, Privatbank Rahn & Bodmer) since Fall 1999.

In close cooperation with Postfinance, Ergon developed the Java Client for the existing Internet banking application, Yellownet. This client enables a browser-independent entry into Yellownet and brings with it additional advantages:

  • Secure transfer of payment data
  • Individual design of the user-interface
  • One-time installation on the computer (download ca. 8MB)
  • Ability to run as supplement to Yellownet HTML

External Asset Manager (EAM)

Credit Suisse
IBIP

In 2002, Ergon developed in only four months a Java-based Internet application for the external asset-managers (EAM) of Credit Suisse Frankfurt. The Java client allows EAMs to access customer profiles securely; to visualize and print overviews of customer assets; and to create single and collective market-orders.

For this solution, the Ergon multi-process framework EAS was deployed on the server. EAS manages the connection to the AS400 backend system. The backend data are in turn formatted and processed by a servlet engine that lies between the Java client and EAS.

Due to the success of the EAM Java application, Ergon is currently developing a HTML-based Internet solution for private bankers of Credit Suisse Frankfurt. The application's servlet engine uses Struts and Velocity to generate dynamic HTML content. This solution is now also running in Guernsey and on Bahamas and have an interface to the Globus Backend System.

Roboclient tool for performance and load testing was used copiously for end-to-end tests.
