The Business Applications department realizes business solutions for a broad market segment. Its services cover the central phases of a business software project:

During business domain analysis, we create a comprehensive model of the business domain. The model describes terms, objects, use cases and processes of the aimed solution. It forms the basis for the specification of the solution. The specification may also user prototypes for user interface and critical functional procedures.
Based on the specification, the software solution is implemented iteratively in close connection with the customer. Where sensible, the implementation is carried out in an automated manner using the JET Software Factory. With that process, solutions are not programmed manually, but to a large part modelled. The JET Software Factory generates actual code from these models automatically. The resulting benefits for customers are higher quality, lower costs, faster implementation and higher flexibility.
Functional user tests are tightly coupled to the implementation. Feedback from such tests is regularly integrated into the next implementation cycle. In addition to user tests, numerous non-functional tests, in particular load tests and integration tests, are performed in a timely manner.
When going productive, the solution is run in a pilot installation and dispersed. Documentation gets completed and user training occurs. The solution is handed over to production in completion of a close working relationship during the entire project.
Coop Personnel Planning and Time Tracking
For Coop Ergon has designed and implemented the JAZZ application for the Coop personnel planning and time tracking for all of the more than the 50'000 Coop employees. JAZZ is a complete web based solution using heavily the web 2.0 technologies. JAZZ bases on the JET Software Factory and was built and distributed in the very short period of only one year. Since July 2006 JAZZ is live and delivers the core data for the payroll accounting of the complete Coop staff. JAZZ is based on Ergon's Zebra Personell Planing & Time Recording product.

UBS Enterprise Connectivity Service
Ergon realized the workflow, inventory and billing system WIBS for the Enterprise Connectivity Services (ECS) department at UBS. WIBS covers orders, technical inventory and accounting for all communication and network services at UBS, including mobile phones, fixed line phones and bandwidth. The solution is strongly process-driven and makes intensive use of workflow technology.
Cantonal Police of Zurich
In cooperation with Swisscom IT Services, Ergon implemented several intranet applications for the cantonal police of Zurich. These applications cover a wide range of police activities and are integrated with a comprehensive intranet platform.
Federal Finance Administration: Service Accounting Between Administration Units
Ergon implements a complete solution for the financial planning of all federal administration units. The solution manages all agreements between distinct administration units for the services they provide and obtain. It is an effective tool for the Federal Finance Administration to control financial planning and budgeting.
